Police in Kitwe’s Mindolo Township have razed down over 100 houses in an operation that was conducted at the crack of dawn.
The operation that also had on board the council police left hundreds of families homeless.
Police also extended their operation along the Chingola road where they moved on over 800 families that has encroached on land belonging to Mopani and Phoenix Contractors.
Mindolo residents claim they were legally awarded the land by their area councillor with the blessing of the ruling elite.
