The Zambian opposition MMD has asked the PF government to state a clear roadmap of the constitution making process.

MMD national treasurer Mwansa Mbulakulima says the roadmap of the constitution is an entitlement of every Zambian.

Mbulakulima has accused the PF government of not having the intentions of enacting the new constitution before the 2016 general elections.

He said his party was aware that the PF wants to do away with the 50 percent plus one threshold, the presidential running mate and the declaration of Zambia as a Christian nation from the new constitution.

Meanwhile, the party’s National Secretary Major Richard Kachingwe has joined the Catholic Church in calling on government to revoke the deportation of catholic priest Viateur Banyangandora to Rwanda.

Maj. Kachingwe says the move is unfortunate and shows how intiolerant the PF government has become.

He says the church plays a critical role in speaking for the voiceless in the country and must not be intimidated.

Maj said Fr Banyangadora’s observations during a sermon, in which he allegedly preached that the rich in the country are getting richer while the poor are getting poorer, is a genuine comment that should not result in a deportation.
