More than 4000 Zambians based in the United States of America on Friday descended on Tampa in Florida to rally Chipolopolo’s international friendly against World Cup finalists Japan.
Although a spirited Zambia national team lost 3-4 to Japan, the jubilant diasporans painted the city with the traditional home colours.
The Zambians also hosted members of the travelling delegation including players to a Red Carpet Dinner at Holiday Inn Express on N Dale Malbry.
They partied all the way into the early hours of Saturday and Zambia Reports readers shared some images from the activities among the Zambians.
Zambian Football Association leader Kalusha Bwalya thanked the Zambians in the USA for showing massive patriotism and urged them to continue rendering support to their country.
Bwalya said the delegation was honoured and proud of the reception in Tampa where the team spent three days before departing at 11:00 hours local time on Saturday (17:00 hours Zambian team).
The delegation’s media representative Nkweto Tembwe was also excited to see multitudes of Zambians sing the Chipolopolo anthem as their team put up a good fight.
