Veteran politician Vernon Mwaanga says the civil service is highly polluted with political party cadres.
Mwaanga said the high cadre turn out in the civil service of cadres was responsible for the high inefficiency in the public service.
He said that some cadres were so comfortable that they were even making political statements without attracting any sanctions from government.
“We have seen a high number of civil servants who are political party cadres who do not understand the real purpose of their job. I have heard some of them make political statements without being rebuked,” he said.
“I fear that the performance of the civil service will further slide down because of these cadres whose mentality does not suit the demands of their jobs.”
Mwaanga said a modern civil service thrives on efficiency.
