Reports coming from the Copperbelt indicate that the police are refusing people from receiving the free mealie meal donated by UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema after their houses were demolished by the council police.
Hichilema has donated 600 bags of mealie meal to help ease the plight of the homeless residents of Mindolo.
Below is what UPND Deputy Secretary General Kuchunga Simusamba wrote on the matter: “Information reaching us is that the PF police on the Copperbelt are blocking people from receiving the free mealie meal donated by president HH to the Mindolo demolition saga victims. This is the worst form of savagery, you demolish people’s homes and now wont even allow them to receive free food from well wishers. The reason given by the police is ‘The environment is not conducive’ whatever this means. Faka more pressure. Aleisa!”
