Early this morning, Zambia Reports scooped a report that President Michael Sata’s son, Lusaka Mayor Mulenga Sata had his eyes set on winning the presidency of the Local Government Association of Zambia (LGAZ).
Now we are receiving reports that two Patriotic Front (PF) councilors Daniel Chisenga and Samuel Munthali have been convinced to withdraw from the race allegedly after an influx of cash from a Chinese road contractor known to be associated with Mr. Sata, as well as several busloads of unruly, violent PF cadres who had been shipped in from the Copperbelt.
This now leaves the race to Mulenga Sata and Aggrey Njekwa, a United Party for National Development (UPND) Councilor in Livingstone.
Reports reaching Zambia Reports are that Daniel Chisenga, who is also former Lusaka Mayor and was until now the President of the Association, and Samuel Munthali allegedly received threats on their lives and those of their families from drunken PF cadres from Copperbelt.
