The following statement was issued Alliance for Better Zambia:

As ABZ Youth we wish to advise Mr. Eric Chanda and his party Fourth Revolution to stop attacking our party because it is against the spirit of unity among opposition political parties. If Mr. Chanda and his members continue to direct their attacks at fellow opposition political parties such as ABZ we shall conclude that his party is sponsored by the ruling party to cause confusion in the opposition.

Our people have spoken clearly about the need for a united opposition that should provide credible checks and balances and ensure that the Patriotic Front delivers its election promises such as delivering a new people driven constitution and improving the lives of our people. As such, we challenge Mr Chanda to demonstrate that is party has a message for the people of Zambia by talking about what they will do for our people.

Mr. Chanda was the first secretary general of ABZ and therefore we understand the bitterness that he may be harbouring to see our party growing and making an impact on the Zambian political terrain. But Mr. Chanda should keep in mind that no one expelled him from ABZ. He left on his own after he was removed from the position of secretary general for failure to attend National Executive Team(NET) meetings. The public knows that the reason he has been giving for leaving ABZ is not true. Against this background, those who have joined his party should wonder how a man who failed to work as secretary general of an upcoming party can succeed as leader of a party.

Our advice to Mr Chanda is that his party will not grow because of attacking fellow opposition political parties. Hence we urge him to stop attacking ABZ and our president Frank Bwalya who has demonstrated maturity by ignoring his attacks.

WILSON KAFUNGA
ABZ COPPERBELT YOUTH CHAIRPERSON
