President Michael Sata’s youngest son, Gerald Sata, left his school in Cape Town, South Africa yesterday for an unknown destination. It is strongly believed that the 16-year-old will be joining other family members abroad to attend to their father, whose status has become a great concern to the public.
Gerald was spotted leaving Cape Town in the company of two officers from Zambia’s intelligence wing at about 900 hours on Monday. He is expected to meet his sister, Mwela Sata, who is also believed to be travelling to be at her fathers bedside in Israel.
Gerald and Mwewa were expected to meet at Dubai airport, along with another family member, John Chanda, who left the country today aboard an Emirates Airways flight at exactly 23hrs Lusaka time. Mr. Chanda arrived at the airport at around 22:30 in the company of two armed intelligence officers from the security wing.
President Sata’s son, Lusaka Mayor Mulenga Sata, was recently spotted in South Korea and is also believed to be uniting with other family members abroad.
Zambia Reports will continue to monitor the situation and report on breaking developments.
