Six political parties have filed their nominations for the August, 19 Mangango by-election to complete the race in what is likely to be the hotly contested race that however gives the UPND a slight advantage.
The race, according to experts, will most likely be between UPND and the MMD while the PF are said to be in third after picking an unpopular candidate. The ruling party changed their strategy withdrawing Taundi Chiseke for Rogers Lingweshi Lyambai.
Chiseke’s seat was petitioned for corrupt and illegal activities which he lost. Other candidates in the race are Charles Mwenzala for MMD, Godwin Putu for UPND.
Charles Milupi’s ADD has picked Mwene Nalawa with UNIP and Fourth Revolution settling for Janet Sombo Chingumbe and Mukumbuta Kabuyana respectively.
There are about thirty three (33) polling stations and about 17,157 registered voters in Mangango.
