The internationally respected British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC, and a privately owned Zambian television station Muvi TV have doubted the images of President Michael published yesterday on social media by State House press aide George Chellah purportedly addressing a Cabinet meeting.
And some observers have gone on to suggest the pictures were unused images of President Sata captured by former Post photo-journalist Thomas Nsama at a time President Sata was enjoying good health.
The observers also question the possibility of foreign affairs minister Harry Kalaba attending the meeting when he was reported in Turkey.
Chellah, who has not updated President Sata’s facebook page, sprung to action yesterday with images of the Head of State who until then had not been seen in public for more than three weeks.
Muvi TV reported that the purported Cabinet took place without any journalists around with only still pictures marked “For Immediate Use” circulated Chellah.
The station argues that that only State House photo journalist Eddie Mwanaleza was seen in the photos with the person (apparently Thomas Nsama) getting the photos not seen.
Meanwhile, the BBC have also doubted the authenticity of President Sata’s images. Listen to the BBC link here. https://audioboo.fm/boos/2325191-zambian-president-michael-sata-attends-cabinet-meeting
While State House managed to splash images of President Sata allegedly addresing a Cabinet meeting, the country now awaits their beloved leader to swear in ratified PF Supreme Court judge Mumba Malila, Attorney General Musa Mwenya and others.
