A 53-year-old teacher of Roma Girls High School who beat up the head teacher over a delay in the payment of rentals has pleaded not guilty to one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Dasswell Sichilongo appeared before Principal Magistrate Aridah Chulu and pleaded not guilty.
Sichilongo whose case has generated widespread interest has been released on a K1, 000 cash bail and two working sureties worth K2, 000 each.
Magistrate Chulu has adjourned the matter to August, 11 for mention and August 25th for commencement of trial.
Sichilongo was filmed by private television Muvi Television descending on Sister Emma Chakupalesa who locked up the house over a delay in settling rentals.
