Zambia and South Africa launched their Zone Six campaign on a positive note winning their football matches for the Under-17 category.
Hosts Zambia beat Botswana 2-0 and South Africa was notch ahead from Group A overcoming Malawi 4-0 to top the pool with a better goal difference.
The Zambian lads put up a brilliant performance and looked like the team to beat in the tournament though many would agree that there was a lot of individualism in their display.
Paul Phiri was the first off the mark with a headed goal in the 22nd minute as he registered the 1st goal of the tournament before Chibuye Mulilo wrapped up the win with a strike from outside the box just before the break.
In the second game of the group, South Africa ensured that they took a quick strangle hold on the group when they fired four past Malawi.
On Saturday, Zambia is due to play Seychelles at 17:00 hours while South Africa will face Botswana.
