Football Association of Zambia president Kalusha Bwalya today unveiled one of his known cadres Honor Janza as interim Chipolopolo coach to oversee the team during the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Janza, according to Kalusha, was given the position by the FAZ executive committee but there is no known record that the technical committee first sat to recommend his appointment.
The FAZ technical director, whose only major experience was spying on Herve Renard and Patrice Beaumelle on behalf of the executive in the guise of assistant coach, has no other coaching experience except for a stint with Zesco United when they were in Division One.
While Zambia’s Africa Cup of Nations spot should be guaranteed especially that two teams emerge from each group, it remains to be seen what philosophy Janza brings to the team now that he is head coach.
Janza, who has not hidden his partisan affiliation to Kalusha instead of being neutral as a professional, will now hold duel roles which Kalusha Bwalya was once forced to drop when he doubled as vice-president and national team coach.

Football Asociation of Zambia president Kalusha Bwalya on Wednesday formally introduced Honor Janza as the interim coach of the Zambia national football team.
This was at a press breifing addressed by the FAZ president himself at Football House.
“For me it is an honour and a previlige to introduce to you Honor Janza as the interim coach of the Zambia national football team. As an association through the Executive Committee meeting held this morning we have concluded that we want continuity and Mr Janza fits the bill of the trainer that we want.
“If we go through the recent history of the chipolopolo, Honor Janza has been with the team since 2008; he was there in 2010 with Herve and Patrice. He was also there in 2012 when Zambia was champion of Africa.
“Once you are a champion you are always called a champion and Janza is a champion,” said the FAZ Chief.
