KalabaForeign Affairs Minister Harry Kalaba says Zambians should be proud that Vice President Guy Scott was positioned near United States President Barack Obama during the United States Africa Heads of State summit.

A self satisfied Kalaba said that he was proud that Scott was even accorded the opportunity for a photo shoot with the Obama family at the White House.

Kalaba said that sitting three persons away from Obama showed that Zambia was held in high esteem by the international community.

He said that it was not an accident that Scott sat three persons away from Obama.

“We tend to overlook the fact that Zambia is held in high esteem by the international arrangement, even the sitting arrangement at the summit, our Vice President was seated near the US President which was not an accident,” said an excited Kalaba.

“We should be proud of these things as a country; you saw that he was even given a chance to have a photo with the US President.”

While Kalaba was star struck by being at the White House, the US/Africa summit was meant to open up more avenues of cooperation between the leading super power and African countries.
