Namulambe-on-ConventionMpongwe MMD member of parliament Gabriel Namulambe has resigned to the ruling Patriotic Front.

And MMD president Dr Nevers Mumba said he will give the statement after getting the official communication from Namulambe.

At a press briefing today, Namulambe resigned along with his constituency officials.

Namulambe said the PF government was on the right course and that he was pledging his support together with his constituency officials.

He claimed he has never requested for a job from the PF government.

PF secretary general Wynter Kabimba, who welcomed Namulambe, said his party has no desire to kill the opposition but they will be happy to see the opposition die.

Kabimba said the MMD is dead today because it has allowed outsiders to hijack the party and that his party will guard against falling into the MMD pit.

Namulambe sneaked into State House last week where he held a meeting with President Michael Sata as they prepared the defection.

Namulambe has since been supporting PF programmes such as the construction of the house for Sata and condemned the expulsion of national secretary Major Richard Kachingwe from the MMD.

He later admitted that he had visited state house to discuss development programmes for his constituency but it turned out the discussion was about his defection.

Zambia reports recently reported that Namulambe had been identified as a PF mole in the MMD sponsored to divide the party.
