Justice Minister and Secretary General of the Patriotic Front Wynter Kabimba has made comments to the press today that Foreign Affairs Minister Given Lubinda is “not indispensable in the ruling party.”
Speaking on ZNBC’s Radio 4 Platform programme, Kabimba who is also Justice minister says as a progressive organisation PF will not hesitate to expel erring members,” he said in an apparent reference to Lubinda who is facing disciplinary charges for treachery.
“There is no one who is indispensable in PF, as a progressive party we will ensure that any erring member faces disciplinary charges. Members who fail to exculpate themselves will be expelled,” he said.
Kabimba said other strong political parties in the region have exhibited such leadership in order for their organisation to emerge stronger.
“In South Africa the biggest political movement the ANC expelled Julius Malema when he went against the party regulations. They knew that he was a danger to the party and in order for ANC to show that it stood on good principles, they had to do that and the party has moved on without him.”
“The PF will do the same to those people who think they have become so popular because of the number of people around them, we will show them that they are not indispensable.
Kabimba himself has been in hot water lately, accused of dodging a corruption probe while also being criticised by civil society groups his public disregard for rule of law in Zambia.
