UPND Pays Muvi TV K1.2 Billion for Election Coverage

MuviOver K1.2 billion has been paid to Muvi TV to broadcast all opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) public rallies, a source has revealed to Zambia Reports.

According to source associated with the development, UPND made the payment when the political party filed in its nominations ahead of the forthcoming presidential by election.

“How can they question our coverage for UPND do they even know how much is involved? UPND has paid a lot of money that’s why you are seeing most of their stories being aired,” a source said.

“We are talking about K 1.2 billion here that’s not a small amount. The party has paid that money so its business working here.”

The source later added that the money was paid in full and what is remaining is for Muvi Tv to fulfil its obligations of ensuring that UPND gets maximum coverage in the run up to January 20 when Zambia elects a new president.

Recently, foreign affairs minister and PF campaign team spokesperson Harry Kalaba accused the private owned TV Station of selling its news to the UPND.
