The problem I have with you UPND supporters is you don’t know how to sell HH. All you put on the table is some unsubstantiated bullshit about his educational accolades & his business acumen. Wisdom is more important than knowledge… how many educated fools roam the earth surface?
We don’t need a guy with a bunch of fancy epithets which can’t translate into tangible results that will benefit the average Zambian. (By the way, EL is a fully qualified Lawyer).
Secondly, the issue of HH’s success as a businessman may not translate into success as a CEO of Zambia. Running a country isn’t the same as running a business – there are way too many moving pieces that require contextual intelligence which can only be obtained from handson experience in govt. EL has that HH doesn’t. Besides, Henry Paulson was a huge success as CEO of Goldman Sachs but he failed miserably when he was tasked to manage the US economy where we ended up experiencing the biggest economy crisis since the great depression which spilt over to the rest of the global economy. All this was under the watch of a successful business leader.
Thirdly, HH argues that the PF has borrowed recklessly. Personally, I see no problem with borrowing as long as the application is logical. Question to you HH supporters is…..how the fuck are you supposed to finance development when your capacity to raise development resources locally (tax collection) is in a mess? By the way, this same HH played a massive role in selling off our assets (mining – mainstay of our economy) to foreign interests, made millions off it & by advising them on how to avoid tax (Grant Thornton) thereafter.
Please answer these questions & I will consider voting for him.
