Police in Luaska have arrested two juveniles in connection with the murder of Hantambo, the daughter to opposition FDD leader Edith Nawakwi.
Police Inspector General Stellah Libongani said Hantambo of house number 776 Ibex Hill was murdered in the early hours of today.
She said the police command was saddened with the recent spate of murder cases involving juveniles.
“While we have continued to arrest and investigate these cases, we are saddened that they keep resurfacing. Sadly, these incidences involve juveniles either as victims or suspects,” Libongani said.
She said the police have discovered that the gruesome murders are connected to some businessmen with the aim of selling the body party in exchange for wealth.
And a police officer at woodlands police where the suspected was detained said Hantambo was living alone.
“It’s like the lady was living alone and one of the suspects knows the family. He was working for them as a garden boy some time back. So this morning when the murder was committed this guy we have here were apprehended by a traffic officer for unlicensed driving but he failed to identify the owner of the motor vehicle. That is how the whole details were later discovered after questioning him,” said the police officer.
