MMD president Dr Nevers Mumba’s spokesperson Raphael Nakachinda has said the suspended provincial leaders on the Copperbelt are a danger to democracy.
Nakachinda wondered why members of the suspended provincial executive were making baseless assertions against the party leadership.
This was after suspended provincial chairman Joseph Chilambwe claimed that his leadership structure has passed a vote of no confidence in Dr Mumba’s leadership and called for fresh elections
Chilambwe said the suspended members will not leave MMD but denied allegations that they have been bribed by the PF government to create confusion in the former ruling party.
Chilambwe further claimed that the suspended members will form parallel structures within the party.
