The Ivory Coast Under-23 national team has arrived in the country ahead of Saturday’s Senegal 2015 Championship qualifier that will serve as a prelude for the Brazil 2016 Olympics.
Ivory Coast and Zambia are tied at 0-all going into the final leg of the final round with the tussle to be decided at Nkoloma Stadium.
Ivory Coast assistant coach Souhano Haidara told journalists on arrival at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport that his charges were in Zambia to win.
“The Zambian team is one of the best that we played and we know it is not going to be easy, but we came here to win,” Haidara said.
The Ivorians arrived at 12:35 aboard South African Airways minus three foreign based players that will join them later.
Whoever makes it to the Senegal Games will have a chance to have a go at the Olympic Games in Rio where three top African teams will make the party with the fourth placed side having to engage in a play off with a team in the Asian zone.
Meanwhile, the Football Association of Zambia has announced that there will be no sale of tickets at the stadium on match day.
According to FAZ, tickets will be sold on Friday at Football House and also at the stadium before match day.
