Zambia Qualify to Senegal 2015 Under-23 Tournament

Chipolopolo 1The Zambia Under-23 national team qualified to the Senegal 2015 African championships thanks to the heroics of goalie Toaster Nsabata.

Fighton Simukonda’s charges may have paid dearly for their poor finishing with the Ivorians comfortable to sit back.

With the match at 0-all after 90 minutes the game went straight into penalties with Zambia suffering through the process to win 4-3.

Zambia started on a high netting their first spot kick through Green Buffaloes’Jack Chirwa with Ivory Coast’s Kessie Yanick skying his effort.

Star striker Ronald ‘Sate Sate’ Kampamba had his effort saved Bamba Drissa with Roger Assalle tucking his away for the visitors.

Benedict Chepeshi coolly slotted his with Diarra Abdel having his effort saved but Zambian goalie Toaster Nsbata’s effort were dealt a blow when Benson Sakala missed his penalty.

Souleyman Coulebally who had a good game had an anti climax when he shot over the bar

Zambia’s Solomon Sakala took his shot coolly was matched by Maiga Habib’s equally exquisitely struck spot kick.

However Ahoulou Jean had his effort saved while Zambia’s Patson Daka slotted home and with Yao Serge shooting tamely Nsabata palmed away to send Zambia to Senegal.

The top three teams at the Senegal Games will qualify to the Rio 2016 Olympics with the third placed team engaging in a playoff with an Asian zone team.
