ZDDM president Edwin Sakala has dared to go on hunger strike to force President Michael Sata to hold inter-party dialogue.
Sakala said he is concerned with the political atmosphere in the country and that there is an urgent need for inter-party dialogue. He said the political situation in the country was volatile and it should not be allowed to continue.
He said inter-party dialogue will help to iron out these issues and create harmony in the country.
Sakala said if President Sata refuses to hold the inter-party dialogue, he will consider going on a hunger strike until the inter-party dialogue is held.
The country has been experiencing heavy handed police brutality on perceived enemies of the PF and the situation has come under intense criticism from various stakeholders.
However, the PF leadership is comfortable with the situation and does not have any plans to hold any bipartisan talks to develop the country.
