The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) says it has made adequate preparation for nominations of candidates in the Mpongwe and Livingstone parliamentary by-elections.
The nominations will be conducted on 31st January for the two parliamentary by-elections and other local government elections.
ECZ public relations manager Chris Akufuna has since urged political parties to observe electoral rules and exhibit high levels of tolerance.
He said the commission has already met with stakeholders in which they were sensitized to abide by the electoral rules.
The Mpongwe seat fell vacant after MMD Member of Parliament Gabriel Namulambe defected to the PF while the Livingstone by-election was caused when UPND Member of Parliament Reverend Howard Sikwela resigned from the party.
