Tourism Minister Sylvia Masebo has once again lashed out at United Party for National Development (UPND) President Hakainde Hichilema charging that the opposition leader was full of “cheap politics.”
Speaking during a campaign to drum up support for the PF candidate ahead of the by election, Masebo said MMD was a better party which the PF would work with.
“UPND is a difficult party to work with, at least MMD is even easier you can work with them. The politics of the UPND are difficult under HH. They have politics of fighting, finger pointing, accusations and insults,” Masebo said.
“For HH when Mwanawasa, Chiluba, and Rupiah were in office, they were all bad and now it’s Sata who is a bad man. Now that Rupiah Banda is out, they have become best friends. You can see that these are cheap politics and there is no principle in him,” she said.
“You cannot run a country like that because even after losing an election, you should support each other and work together. Not after losing an election, you are still fighting. With politics like that, you the people are the ones that suffer.”
Masebo said the by-election was an opportunity for the people of Livingstone to make their own personal development by voting for the PF candidate Lawrence Evans.
“I don’t want to work with an MP from the opposition because I had problems. If development is to progress, vote for the PF candidate who has an efficient channel to get to all the doors of government to bring development, not one who has to get permission from his party to talk to the President.”
