President Michael Sata will not attend the signing ceremony of the peace agreement between the Democratic Republic Congo (DRC) government and the M23 rebels this Sunday in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, sources have disclosed.
State House sources further disclosed that PF Secretary General Wynter Kabimba had been appointed to represent the country while the Head of State would be campaigning in Mpongwe on the same date.
“The President will not attend that function. He will be represented by the Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba because the President has a number of things to attend to. This Saturday, (tomorrow) he (President Sata) will be traveling to Livingstone to drum up support for the PF candidate ahead of the Livingstone by-election.”
The sources said other Heads of States from the Great Lakes region would converge in Addis Ababa for the signing of the peace treaty under the United Nations.
