Residents of Lusaka West’s Kalundu area are angry with the Patriotic Front government who took chlorine instead of tents and other medical supplies when two babies died from floods that damaged over 200 houses.
After the incident was brought to the attention of government, the residents were shocked to receive cartons of chlorine when they have no shelter or food to live on.
They described governmen’st reaction to the flood situation as insensitive and unreasonable.
Chilinda Mwale wondered how they will use chlorine to shelter the victim’s families and provide food for members of the households that have been affected.
Many households have been damaged from the floods that have since claimed the lives of two babies.
But government’s response has been the worst assistance they were expecting in times of critical need.
