Acting Chief Justice Lombe Chibesakunda has urged proper monitoring and distribution of land in the country.
Swearing in members of the Lands Tribunal, justice Chibesakunda noted the country has recorded a huge number of land disputes between citizens as well as among chiefs.
Justice Chibesakunda instructed the members of the Lands Tribunal to be fair and ensure the proper land administration in the country.
Zambia has many cases of disputes for state and customary land. This has caused tension among the chiefdoms while foreign investors have also been embroiled in land disputes for forcibly repossessing land from rightful owners on a promise of creating jobs.
