United Party for National Development (UPND) Sinazongwe Member of Parliament Richwell Siamunene has dared his party to expel him because he is ready to take up a job in the Patrotic Front (PF) government.
Siamunene said in a telephone interview from Sinazongwe that it was useless to remain an MP when he was not able to deliver development under the UPND.
He said he was ready to be appointed by President Michael Sata so that he could work with the government to develop Sinazongwe.
“I am ready to be fired because it does not make sense for me any more to continue being an MP but the people are still in poverty and my party does not allow me to work with the government, which brings about development,” he said.
Siamunene said his conscious was troubled by the high poverty levels being experienced by his people.
He said all MPs must always remember that they were elected to spearhead development in their constituencies.
“This is why I am ready to be expelled because development for me has failed to come for being in the opposition. Let them expel me and see what happens,” he said.
Siamunene said that he was not in Parliament to enrich himself, but he his desire was to work for the people.
