Lusaka Principal Resident Magistrate Aridah Chulu has put former MMD local government deputy minister Moses Muteteka on his defence after finding him with a case to answer in a matter where he is charged with theft of a motor vehicle worth K75 million.
Muteteka who is also Chisamba Member of Parliament is accused of having stolen a Mitsubishi Fuso light truck registration number ABX 3529, valued at K75 million, the property of Chibombo district which he registered in his name.
Passing ruling today, Magistrate Chulu said the prosecution had established a prima facie case against him.
And Muteteka through his lawyer told the court that he would call four witnesses in his defence.
Magistrate Chuulu set May 3 as date for opening defence.
