kaingu-MbulakulimaOpposition Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD) treasurer Mwansa Mbulakulima says Wynter Kabimba should be the last person to accuse any organisation of corruption as his hands were not clean.

And Chipangali MMD MP Vincent Mwale says it is strange that Mr Kabimba has accused the former rulling party of being the most corrupt party when the PF was busy poaching their parliamentarians.

Kabimba is lavishly quoted by his allies at compromised PF mouthpiece, The Post Newspapers, saying the former ruling party is full of crooks. The Lusaka lawyer, however, conveniently neglected to mention that he is a subject of serious corruption allegation in which he allegedly benefited from oil deal kickbacks by Trafigura.

The investigations by the Anti Corruption Commission that was triggered by an internal power struggle in the Patriotic Front was also extended to Kabimba’s rival Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba – the defence minister.

Kabimba, who is also a reported poacher, told a political rally in Kapiri Mposhi that the MMD was a party of crooks and was the most corrupt party in Africa neglecting to mention the extent to which the PF is grappling in corruption related allegations barely one and half years in power.

These outburst from the rather arrogant and pompous nominated Member of Parliament who also serves as Justice minister has attracted reactions from the MMD with Mbulakulima who is former Copperbelt minister saying Kabimba should exercise some levels of civility in his language now that he held a very high office.

“Wynter must be civil in his language now that he is a minister we know that he has vulgar language,” said the Chembe MP. “Wynter should be the last person to talk about corruption because his hands are not clean.”

Meanwhile, Mwale said it was unfortunate that Kabimba had labelled the MMD corrupt when the PF had appointed their members as ministers some of whom like sports deputy minister was facing fraud charges for altering his academic qualification and Gabriel Namulambe who is facing corruption charges. Masumba and Namulambe crossed over to PF in a bid to secure themselves from prosecution.

There are other discredited fellows such as Lusaka lawyer Keith Mukata, Dr Patrick Chikusu, David Phiri and Patrick Ngoma that were serving the PF from the ruling MMD. Ngoma recently defected to cause a pending by-election in Feira.

“When the justice minister says MMD is corrupt does he also mean the members that they have appointed as ministers?” asked the young Chipangali MP.
