wynter-kabimbaPatriotic Front Secretary General Wynter Kabimba says the party is not deliberately dragging the country into a One Party State.

Kabimba claimed the PF had the support of over two million Zambians although the party was only ushered into office by slightly over 1 million whose zeal and support has drastically dwindled to failed promises.

“There is no policy to take back the country to a one party state. If 12 million plus Zambians are happy with us, we will welcome them except a few like William Banda,” Kabimba, who is also justice minister, said of a country with nearly 13 million inhabitant.

He was speaking during the launch of a Communist China styled political education programme. There are wide concerns that the PF wants to turn Zambia into a socialist one party state not different from the reign of terror under the 27 years of first Republican president Kenneth Kaunda.

Although the PF has consistently denied it has no intentions of taking Zambia to a one party state, its actions are suggesting otherwise with President Sata leading the onslaught on democracy.

President Sata has banned political rally gathering and any such such assembly is denied by his police force and if held is met with the full force of the security wing as a way of clipping the growth of the opposition.

The Head of State has also sponsored individuals to destroy opposition political parties poaching hunger stricken and corruption ravaged Members of Parliament from both opposition political parties MMD and UPND.

President Sata is also entertaining price controls and introducing legislation that sets controls on forex while having a dip hand in mining and regulation of Non-governmental organisation, all hallmarks of a one party state state.
