The University Teaching Hospital (UTH) says it has managed to reduce the congestion at the institution following the increased number of bed spaces at the Filter Clinic and admission wards.
UTH Public Relations Officer, Mwenya Musenge, says the patients are now not spending too much time at the Filter Clinic before being admitted in the Admission wards.
Musenge says the institution has also seen an increase in the number of patients coming to seek treatment because of the increasing population in Lusaka and the increase in the disease burden.
He says UTH has put up a strategy of increasing capacity in all outpatient departments.
Musenge has however encouraged the people not to over look clinics in their respective communities before seeking treatment at the highest health institution.
