Electoral Commission of Zambia executive officer Priscilla Isaacs telephoned vice President Guy Scott telling him to leave Lukulu after the campaign period had lapsed.
Lukulu West and Kapiri Mposhi will hold by-elections today but the Patriotic Front leadership were sneaking into both areas for last minute campaigns disguised as developmental projects visits.
Dr Scott had sneaked into Lukulu to distribute bicycles at the weekend after the campaign period had finished under the guise of touring developmental projects prompting a telephone call from ECZ director Priscilla Isaacs.
“Isaacs called me and told me to leave Lukulu because the people were becoming hysterical. So we flew out,” he said.
The people of Lukulu go to the polls on Tuesday with the ruling PF fielding Eileen Imbwae while the UPND is going with Misheck Mutelo.
