According to a recent report authenticated by the Ministry of Education, three out of 10 teenagers in Zambia among the ages of 15 to 19, are victims of early motherhood.
This makes Zambia rank 5th highest in teen pregnancies in sub-Sahara Africa which is a worry trend as it leaves girls in high school most vulnerable.
The Ministry of Education which says three in ten young women aged 15 to 19 have either given birth or are carrying a pregnancy.
Education Permanent Secretary Chishimba Nkosha says government will take steps to strengthen sexuality education programmes and sexual reproductive health services for young people.
