The Lusaka High Court has quashed Magistrate Mischeck Ngambi’s revocation of bail for five UPND cadres who were arrested for participating in a demonstration demanding the resignation of Director of Public Prosecutions Mutembo Nchito.
Ngambi had revoked bail for the five cadres but the High Court overturned that decision and granted the cadres KR1000 bail each in their own cognisance.
The decision means Aaron Pumulo and four others will be released from custody after they
their bail was restored. The case is one of several others that are seen to be politically motivated.
