armed-pf-cadres-attack-upndThe ruling Patriotic Front in Lusaka has confirmed reports it is training militia but disguised its response as a Non-governmental organisation based in Lusaka’s Longacres area.

Zambia Reports recently revealed that the ruling party was training militia to target dissenting views and the incident involving MMD die-hard youth leader Bowman Lusambo was its first one with other targets lined up including musicians Petersen and Pilato, performers of the hit song ‘Bufi’ which has become an anti-government anthem, as well as opposition UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema.

A PF official responded to a report claiming the NGO was not a militia but a training ground for party leadership.

Patriotic Front Lusaka District chairperson Goodson Banda tells Qfm that the NGO in question is funded by his party but that it is meant to educate youths in computer skills and political science with the purposes of maintaining a transitional leadership to carry on from the present generation.

Banda claims that the PF does not want to be caught up in the same predicament the MMD and UNIP has remained in after allegedly failing to groom youths that will take over their parties’ leadership after the current generation.

PF Secretary General Wynter Kabimba, who is also justice minister, is said to be behind the militia as his backbone to entrench ambitions to take over from President Michael Sata who is unlikely to contest the 2016 elections on medical grounds.
