The Supreme Court is tomorrow set to rule on yet another possible by-election that has ruling Patriotic Front’s Enock Maseka challenging the election of the United Party for National Development’s Carlos Antonio as Kaoma Member of Parliament.
High Court judge Florence Lengalenga had thrown out Maseka’s petition saying it fell short of meritorious grounds but the PF member appealed to the Supreme Court and Zambians will wait to hear if they will be in for yet another by-elections.
The Kaoma seat is one of over 50 the PF has lined up to wrestle as they push to reach the 106 target for parliamentarians to secure an outright majority to pass laws such a constitution without key elements.
Other than petitioning, the PF has also been poaching opposition MPs through promising them ministerial jobs.
So far all the opposition MPs who have defected to the PF have been gifted with deputy ministerial positions.
