The Media Institute of Southern Africa has condemned the Patriotic Front cadres’ attack on Fr Frank Bwalya who they disrupted and dipped in local opaque beer during a live programme at Flava FM in Kitwe with an attempt to stop him from continuing the show.
Fr Bwalya, a former MISA Zambia chairperson, featuring to appear on a MISA Zambia sponsored good governance programme.
Nalumino said the attacks were sad especially coming barely a week after PF cadres belonging to a militia and funded by commerce deputy minister Miles Sampa had attacked congregants at the Bible Gospel for Africa in Matero.
He said there was a consistent pattern of violence and harassment against those perceived to be anti government.
He said Zambians must rise to protect democracy and accomodate divergent views.
Nalumino said the organization will write to the leadership of the PF to ensure that they convene an inter party convention to address the question of violence.
