Ballot papers for the June 20 Feira Parliamentary by election will arrive in the country this Friday, ZNBC – the State owned and PF controlled national broadcaster – has reported.
The ballots which were expected to be delivered in the country on Monday from England could not due to miscommunication between the printer and their agent.
Electoral Commission of Zambia – ECZ Public Relations Manager Cris Akufuna has told ZNBC news in a telephone interview that the ballots will arrive at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport on Friday June 14 at 14:25 hours aboard an emirates plane.
Akufuna says all political parties taking part in the Feira by-election will be invited to witness the arrival of the ballot papers.
He says the ballots will be verified at the ECZ headquarters in the presence of political parties and the media.
Akufuna says the papers will then be dispatched to Feira for onward distribution to polling stations.
