Transparency International Zambia has questioned the move taken by Government to retire former Zambia Railways Limited (ZRL) Managing Director Clive Chirwa in national interest while still under investigation for corruption.
TIZ Executive Director, Goodwell Lungu says the move by government raises a lot of questions among members of the public.
Lungu says government should have stated clearly the status of Professor Chirwa with regards the investigations against him before announcing his retirement.
He adds that the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) on the other hand should have told the people what their investigations had yielded on the former ZRL Managing Director.
Lungu has since urged the ACC to tell the public the findings of their investigations.
