The Road Transport and Safety Agency (RATSA) last night arrested over 64 drunk drivers after subjecting them to breatheriser.
Those that were arrested had their vehicles impounded during an operation that aimed at combating those that drunk while driving on public roads.
RATSA senior principal public relations officer Mercy Mwila said they initiated the operation in Lusaka to understand the extent to which drivers drink while driving.
Mwila said after conducting the operation, 16 drivers were locked up and that they will be spreading operation to rest of country to ensure even those driving on the high way and breatherised.
