Cosafa-Zam-Moz10Cosafa Cup hosts Zambia and tournament underdogs Lesotho are through to the semifinals of the 2013 competition.

Zambia enjoyed a straightforward 3-1 win over Mozambique, while Lesotho went through a trickier quarter-final, defeating Angola 5-3 in a penalty shoot-out
after the match had finished level at 1-1.

The BBC reports that Zambia will meet South Africa in the last four.

Lesotho will take on title-holders Zimbabwe for a place in the final.

After three tight quarter-finals in Lusaka and Kitwe, Zambia took just 28 minutes at the Nkana Stadium to all but wrap up victory.

Striker Bornwell Mwape converted a penalty on 14 minutes after midfielder Momed Hagi floored striker Festus Mbewe as the ball ran loose.

The home team doubled their advantage with a surprise Jimmy Chisenga goal. The full-back floated a cross to the far post and it dipped behind goalkeeper Gervasio Cossa into the net.

The third Zambia goal came from Moses Phiri whose low, close-range shot flew into the net after good work from midfield star Mukuka Mulenga and Chisenga.

Mozambique snatched a late consolation goal when Apson Manjate controlled a cross with his chest and netted with a spectacular bicycle kick.
