Movement for Multi-Party Democracy (MMD) president Nevers Mumba has also been blocked from speaking on Radio Mano in Kasama by ruling Patriotic Front hooligans, hours after his National Restoration Party (NAREP) counterpart Elias Chipimo Jr was stopped.
Dr Mumba and other leaders are Kasama to attend the burial ceremony of late Paramount Chief Chitimukulu .
NAREP president Elias Chipimo was earliar blocked by PF thugs and told to go away or risk physical harm.
According to the Zambian Watchdog, more than 30 PF thugs and hooligans have surrounded radio Mano. The drunk thugs are turning away and opposition leaders who attempt to go to the radio station.
Dr Mumba complained to the Watchdog that what is happening in the country is sad.
He wondered how opposition leaders will explain their ideas and policies to the people if they are not allowed to hold rallies and are now blocked from speaking on radio.
Meanwhile NAREP has protested against the PF thuggery of blocking opposition leaders from speaking on radio Mano, a community FM.
Narep vice-president Charles Maboshe said “as NAREP, we protest in the strongest terms on the manner in which our Party President Mr. Elias Chipimo Jr. was harassed by the PF thugs in Kasama who stopped him from exercising his right as a citizen and leader of a political party in Zambia when he was scheduled to appear on Mano Radio Station this morning.”
