Agriculture Minister Bob Sichinga has said the Patriotic Front government will not listen to anyone but only implement their party’s ideas.
Sichinga told parliament that even if the opposition had good ideas they would not pay attention to them because the ruling party had their ideas and will only stick to the PF manifesto.
“We have a clear plan as PF even the UPND could have done it differently and think we are not doing well. We will not listen to them but [will] keep implementing our ideas because those are their ideas,” he said.
“We will are sure that we are on the right path.”
He announced that government would only start to buy maize on July 22.
Sichinga said government had initially planned to start buying maize in the first week of June but that the high moisture content had prevented the exercise from starting early.
Meanwhile, parliament is expected to adjourn sine die.
