Information Minister Mwansa Kapeya has confirmed that government is still assessing if people are still accessing online publications that were blocked by the state security agencies.
Kapeya said the government had given free hand to experts to ensure the websites among them the Zambian Watchdog and Zambia Reports were blocked from domestic access in the country.
“We have sent experts out there to ensure that we assess if the people out there are still accessing the blocked sites. We are concerned at the manner the information is going out there insulting leaders and anybody they do not like,” Kapeya said.
Recently the PF government launched a crackdown on critical websites that had been whistle blowing wrong down in the PF government.
The major media outlets in the country are government owned with the largest daily newspaper The Post being a trumpet for the ruling party in exchange for vast business contracts.
