The Zambian government is stuck after High Court judge Florence Lengalenga halted the Judge Lovemore Chikopa tribunal that was constituted to investigate the three judges.
Attorney General Mumba Malila said government is still consulting on the matter after the High Court granted the respondents leave to seek judicial review.
Lengalenga said the tribunal could not continue in the wake of proceedings in the court that are seeking to review the decision made by President Michael Sata.
Malila said government was still determined to see the three judges prosecuted.
The trio retired Supreme Court Judge Phillip Musonda and High Court judges Nigel Mutuna and Charles Kajimanga have challenged the constitutionality of the tribunal to hear them out and the courts have granted them leave to seek judicial review.
President Sata constituted a tribunal on grounds many believe was meant to appease his associates PF aligned Post Newspapers editor Fred M’membe and and Director of Public Prosecutions Mutembo Nchito.
Judge Mutuna ordered the duo to pay Development Bank of Zambia K14 billion debt accumulated by the former directors of the now defunct Zambian Airways.
