A dispute is brewing in Chief Chisele’s area in North Western Province where residents have opposed government’s decision to allow First Quantum Mines to build the Chisola Dam that will lead to the displacement of over 200 villagers. Chief Chisele has said that the K400 to K2000 being offered as compensation was too little and would not help the villagers in the absence of a concrete alternative.
