Medical Stores is stuck with 800, 000 condoms due to low demand.
Executive Director Anne Zulu said while Anti Retroviral Drugs were on high demand, condoms were being shunned.
Zulu said Medical Stores was stuck with stacks of condoms with little demand for the product.
She said the move was slowing down the fight against HIV/AIDS.
“We have in excess of 800, 000 condoms in stock as there seems to be low demand out there but the ARVs are on high demand,” she said.
“It is our hope that people would be more open to the idea of using condoms which is a readily available prevententive measure.”
She said, “We are hoping the demand will increase with people getting to use condoms more.”
