People’s Party President Mike Mulongoti says the ruling Patriotic Front should not take credit for the introduction of toll gates.
Mulongoti, who is former Works and Supply Minister in the previous administration, said the PF has delayed the implementation of the toll gates to ensure that the idea seems to have been their creation.
“We are surprised that they have been delaying to implement the idea of the toll gates. It has taken them two years because they want to show that it is their idea yet they found it,” he said.
“We are more shocked that they are using money from the treasury when the idea was to use private/public money,” he said.
“There is no need for anyone to be fooled because this is not a new idea, they should just say they found the plan and now they are juts implementing it.”
Mulongoti said the PF did not have the courage to admit that they have hijacked some of the projects their predecessors put in place.
